Just starting 5x5, seems allright so far but I have a few questions about starting back after (almost) exclusively doing cardio for the past decade. I used to be quite strong squatting and have retained some of my strength, from running mostly likely. I could do the old 20 rep breathing squat workouts with over 315 and I could still probably do 200x15 easily. My other lifts aren't nearly what they were (especially pullups and overhead press) but I could probably bench 225x1 if I had to. Does the empty bar start still apply in my case or should I shoot for a percentage of my current max?
